Central Government equipped Soekarno Hatta International Airport with 50 autogates to support the success of the prestigious sport event of FIFA U-17 World Cup which Indonesia hosted this year. “We have officially installed the first 24 units of autogate and we will install the rest with two of them for the disability,” says Silmy Karim, the Director General of Immigration on Monday (10/2/2023). According to him, his parties have set the 50 autogates to be installed before December 2023. Until the 50 autogates are installed, Salim says the facility is currently limited only for the Indonesians coming or going abroad. “Well people from abroad eventually could use it too later on. Just like in Qatar and Singapura, we too want to give our best in providing service to the people,” he said. Salim adds that his parties have talked with Angkasa Pura II Inc. to renovate Immigration interior to send messages to the world that Indonesia is a better and developed country. The FIFA U-17 World Cup will be held from November 10th – December 2nd, 2023 with 24 countries participated in the tournament. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
