Inp.polri.go.id. - Jakarta. Chairperson of Regional Representative Council (DPD) of Republic of Indonesia, La Nyalla Mahmud Mattalitti, expressed his high appreciation to the ranks of Indonesian National Police, right on the 75th Bhayangkara Day. He mentioned expectations for the Police, especially in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic.  According to the Chairperson of Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesia National Police is one of the front lines facing the pandemic. "Happy 75th Bhayangkara Day to the Indonesian National Police. We also express our high appreciation for the hard work of the Indonesia National Police, who have provided the best service in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic," he said. He also expects Indonesian National Police will continue supporting the government so Indonesia will soon get out of the pandemic. He also supports the efforts of the Indonesia National Police to provide the Covid-19 vaccine for the community. “Regional Police should pick up the ball and run with it to achieve the target for mass Covid-19 vaccinations, as Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police did. The seriousness of Indonesia National Police in providing vaccine service is perfect, it is proven that ahead of Bhayangkara Day, Indonesia National Police have succeeded in providing more than 1.2 million vaccines for the community, "he said. He also advised Indonesian National Police should continue to prioritize a populist approach, primarily when the Emergency PPKM (community restriction activity) is implemented. However, according to him, extra patience is needed to deal with people who feel heavy with the existence of this policy. “Indonesia National Police must remain humanist but at the same time be responsible in carrying out their duties. Indonesia National Police have a tough job during this pandemic, but I see the police personnel are still trying the best to serve the community. In this pandemic period, it is necessary for the Police to be strict but also prioritizing the side as protectors for the community. The quality of human resources is indeed important,” he added. Chairperson of Regional Representative Council also reminded President Joko Widodo's message asking Indonesia National Police to fix and strengthen the management and institutions. La Nyalla said that with good management and institution, the face of the Indonesia National Police will be better. "Although currently Indonesia National is doing many tasks and handling Covid-19 pandemic, keep focussing with other tasks. We hope Indonesia National Police can work professionally under various authorities it has," he said. Chairperson of Regional Representative Council also appreciated various performance achievements of Indonesia National Police under the leadership of Chief of Indonesia National Police General Listyo Sigit with the vision of transforming into Presisi (Predictive, Responsible, and Fair Transparency) Police.  According to him, Indonesia National Police have made many breakthroughs, especially in welcoming the Police 4.0 era. "We know Indonesia National Police has issued many programs based on digital technology to make it easier for the community. Such as the SINAR (Precision National Online Sim) application from Traffic Security Corps to extend the validity period of Driving License (SIM) A and SIM C online," Chairperson of Regional Representative Council said. Other breakthroughs are the application of an online Police Record Certificate (SKCK), the application of an online Notification of Investigation Results Notification (SP2HP) for the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT), to the cyber patrol program and Presisi Propam (Profession and Security). In addition, Indonesia National Police has also strengthened the electronic ticketing program. "Indonesia National Police also continues to add electronic traffic law enforcement (e-TLE) facilities that bring the face of Indonesia National Police to be more advanced. At least 244 electronic ticketing camera points have been spread across 12 Regional Police areas until last March, and Indonesia National Police is still trying to add more. We have to support them," he said. From the Indonesia National Police report, there has been decreasing in traffic violations since e-TLE is implemented. Indonesia National Police noted motor vehicle traffic violations in many Regional Police have decreased to approximately 40 percent. “We must also give appreciation for the efforts to eradicate drugs by Indonesia National Police. Indonesia National Police even do not hesitate to give heavy sanctions to their staff who are involved in drug cases," Chairperson of Regional Representative Council said. The former chairperson of PSSI (Football Association of Indonesia) mentioned Indonesian National Police has many achievements in the efforts to eradicate drugs. Among them are, the arrestment of 24,878 people and thwarted 19,229 drug trafficking cases in January-June 2021 period. When converted, the value of the seized drug evidence is around Rp 11.66 trillion.
