Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Aceh Regional Police have arrested a suspect identified as SB (36) for alleged involvement in the illegal trade of Sumatran tiger skin and body parts, officials confirmed on Tuesday (7/10/2025).

The arrest was made by the Special Crimes Sub-Directorate in Nagan Raya District following an investigation linked to a previous case in Southeast Aceh.

“The suspect  is strongly suspected to be part of a wildlife trafficking network trading tiger organs,” said Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Director Senior Superintendentl Zulhir Destrian.

Police earlier confiscated one tiger skin, 16 claws, two fangs, and several bones as evidence.

Chief Zulhir stated that the suspect faces charges under the Conservation of Natural Resources Law for trading protected wildlife. He emphasized that law enforcement is committed to preserving biodiversity and combating illegal wildlife trade. The police also urged the public to report any poaching or wildlife trafficking activities immediately.
