inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. Traffic Directorate of Aceh Regional Police installed 20 CCTV cameras in twenty intersections of Banda Aceh city. "The installed CCTV cameras are equipped with traffic violator detectors at the traffic light", Director of Traffic of Aceh Regional Police said. The Director of Traffic of the Aceh Regional Police said that the detectors could identify every traffic violation or criminal action that may happen in the traffic light. These detectors are called Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE). The ETLE instalment is an effort in materialising safety, security, order, and smoothness of the traffic in Banda Aceh city. "And also change drivers' behaviour to be more in order and obey the traffic regulations", Director of Traffic of the Aceh Regional Police said. The ETLE cameras would detect all violations in the traffic light. "Such as driving through red lights, using phone while driving, driving against the traffic flow, and not wearing a seat belt", Director of Traffic of the Aceh Regional Police said. The ETLE cameras even could detect the vehicle type and license plate number of the violators on the street. "The camera would be in operation for 24 hours without the necessity of Police personnel presence on the ground", he explained. Even so, there still would be personnel who operates the ETLE.
