Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning and Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid vowed on Monday (8/12/2025) to safeguard land in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra from potential land mafia claims following recent floods and landslides across the region.
He said around 65,000 hectares of rice fields were buried in mud, creating a high risk of “lost land,” where boundaries disappear and opportunistic actors may attempt illegal claims.
“The certified land remains secure because spatial boundary data is stored in our records, but uncertified plots face greater vulnerability,” the minister said, as quoted by antaranews.com
The ministry is preparing measures to verify boundaries, accelerate land registration, and prevent fraudulent claims during post-disaster recovery.
The Ministry of Agriculture is simultaneously fast-tracking recovery of 40,000 hectares of damaged farmland, providing seeds, fertilizer, machinery, and full reconstruction support.
Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman confirmed that the central government will cover all recovery costs, including rebuilding destroyed plots until they can be returned to landowners.
