Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Wings Air will open new flights connecting Bandung to Surakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya starting 20 and 21 December 2025, which is expected to to strengthen regional connectivity and support economic, tourism, and education activities in West Java, the Bandung City administration announced on Monday (8/12/2025).
Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan welcomed the initiative, saying it will ease mobility for students and travelers from Central Java.
“With better connectivity, people’s movement will be much more convenient,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com
The city is coordinating with the Weest Java transportation and tourism offices to finalize supporting infrastructure, including an access flyover to the airport.
Wings Air spokesperson Danang Mandala Prihantoro said the routes will be operated using ATR 72-600 aircraft, citing Bandung’s strategic role as a national hub for business, tourism, and education.
Although flight frequency will begin modestly, officials expect the new routes to boost Bandung’s economic activity, especially in tourism and student mobility.
