Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Ahead 2024 General Elections, Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police is currently intensifying their monitoring on community activities on social media.
“Through Tinombala Mantap Brata Operation Task Force, either in Regional Police or in Sub-regional police, will continue to monitor the content or information in digital space, particularly in social media,” says Southeast Sulawesi Police PR Chief, Grand Commissioner Djoko Wienartono on Sunday (11/5/2023).
He also explained that the social media activity monitoring was to anticipate hoax spreading. The targets for cyber partrols are hate speech, black campaign, race and religion politic practice, disinformation, and defamation.
“As we know, the politic dynamics is getting tense, such as news in mainstream media and being discussed in social media,” he explained further.
In response to the situation, police ranks, also educate the public through social media as effort in maintaining safety and security of the public ahead 2024 General Elections.
“The hoax spreading and other similar things must be prevented as soon as possible because the digital space is huge and accessible by many,” he concluded.
