Inp.polri.go.id – Bali. The Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum held AIS Blue Economy High-Level Dialogue as part of the side event of 2023 AIS Forum Summit. The discussion that was held in Mulia Hotel, Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, invites various experts from various sector with the discussion theme of "Forging a New Era of Sustainable Blue Growth in Archipelagic and Island States". The aim of this discussion is to realize a new era of sustainable blue economy growth and solidify the collaboration the blue economy funds in accelerating the implementations. Chief Secretary of AIS Forum, Riny Modaso states that the high-level dialogue has invites the world leaders, economic experts, investors, and entrepreneurs to directly discuss the blue economy sector establishment. “The main focus of this dialogue is to identify main potentials and challenges in developing blue economy for the archipelagic and island states, while facilitating knowledge and expertise exchange between participants in improving our respective states capabilities in developing, implementing, and monitoring the initiative of blue economy,” she said. She emphasizes that AIS Forum members are the states that potentially impacted the most by the climate change, which press them to urgently develop sustainable blue economy. “However, most of them have not fully taken advantage the blue economy trend due to minimal investment and private funds, low environmental support, and the risk of debt and climate vulnerability,” she explains. She remarks that the AIS Blue Economy High Level Dialogue is an important step in ensuring the archipelagic and island states to achieve full benefits of sustainable blue economy growth.
