Graduates of the Indonesian Military Academy Class of 1990 organized a community service programme  in Sorong, Southwest Papua, to celebrate 33 years of service aimed to promote unity and civic engagement. Led by the Alumni Committee and attended by the West Papua Police Chief Inspector General Daniel tahi Monang Silitonga, the event began with traditional ceremonies and acknowledgements. "Thank you for the donation.  We have distributed them  We have also been renovating 14 housing units for members of the police, military and locals," he said. The community service included the distribution of 3,000 relief kits containing school supplies and clothing for pre-school children at 36 locations in two provinces.. Senior Superintendent Bagijo Hadi Kurnijanto, who chaired the community service committee in West Papua, Chairman of the West Papua Committee and the West Papua Regional Police's Director of Community Development, emphasised the joint efforts of the military and police in the community service initiative. The event also demonstrated the commitment to peaceful elections and attracted some 1,300 participants, coinciding with the Youth Pledge Day. Health-focused activities such as check-ups, dental check-ups, stunting prevention, a mass circumcision drive and a blood donation drive were conducted to directly benefit the local community.
