Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. At an exclusive screening of the film 'Aku Rindu' (I Long For), the Indonesian National Police's (INP) public relations department highlighted the film's portrayal of police officers as problem solvers in society.
Senior Superintendent Ahmad Mustofa Kamal, the Head of the INP Public Relations Division's Partner Unit, reflected on the film's powerful message, which emphasizes the willingness of police personnel to address societal challenges, as observed during the screening in Jakarta on Friday (27/10/2023).
The 90-minute film, directed by Key Mangungsong and starring renowned actors Samuel Rizal and Verlita Evelyn, revolved around the life of a police officer's family in Flores Timur as they face various community issues. It captured the story of Lailani, the wife of Assistant Superintendent Banyu, who is passionate about educating children as a teacher in Larantuka, Flores Timur, Nusa Tenggara Timur.
The spokesperson emphasized the film's dual purpose: to inspire police personnel and their families about the sacrifices and challenges of remote deployment, and to underline the support required from the officers' families, antaranews.com reported.
"Aku Rindu" is a film that explores Lailani's poignant longing for her student Omi, who becomes an undocumented immigrant in Malaysia, and illustrates the harsh realities experienced by many in the region, including limited access to education, the dangers of human trafficking, inadequate medical care and lack of electricity. Capturing the inspiring essence of police life, the film showcases the stunning landscapes of Nusa Tenggara Timur, enhancing the visual storytelling.
