Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In the early hours of Friday morning (27/10/2023), the Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police's Directorate General of Criminal Investigation arrested a South Korean national identified as KH at the scene where an immigration officer was found dead in Tangerang, Banten.
The immigration officer, identified as 23 year old TF, was found dead following a report from the Metro Garden Apartment about a person falling from the 19th floor.
"The suspect has been arrested and we are currently investigating whether this is related to murder, suicide, accident or other circumstances," said Senior Superintendent Hengki Haryadi, the Director of the Jakarta Police's General Crime Investigation.
He said that the South Korean suspect barricaded himself in a room in the apartment and threatened security personnel and others with a sharp weapon. It prompted the police to call negotiators and an anti-bomb squad.
"Subsequently, through negotiations, the individual agreed to surrender, accompanied by officials from the South Korean embassy," Hengki said as reported by antaranews.com
His office has mobilized a collaborative inter-professional team to the scene, including experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory (Labfor), forensic medicine specialists and personnel from the Indonesian Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (Inafis) to investigate the case.
