Alumni of 1989 Class of Indonesian Armed Forces Held Vaccination and Distributed Thousands of Basic Necessities Packages in Banten

Alumni of 1989 Class of Indonesian Armed Forces held mass vaccination and social service event for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in the area under the jurisdiction of Banten Regional Police. The vaccination and social service events were held in three locations as Cilegon City Square, Jamiatul Ikhwan Ponpes (Islamic Boarding School) of Pasir Buntu village, Tunjung Teja district, Serang district, and Irhamma Bil Quran Ponpes at Pari village, Mandalawangi district, Pandeglang, on Monday (26/10). The activity was led by the Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police, Police General Commissioner Agus Andrianto, which also one of the 1989 Class of Indonesian Armed Forces and attended by Governor of Banten, Wahidin Halim, and Expert Staff of the National Defence Council, Armed Forces Vice Admiral Deni. Besides, there are also Deputy Commander of the Doctrine, Education, and Training Commando of Indonesian Armed Forces, Armed Forces Junior Marshal Eko Doni Indarto, General Director of Territorial Centre of Indonesian Army, Armed Forces Brigadier General Toto Nugroho, Chief of Banten Regional Police, Police Inspector General Rudy Heriyanto, Deputy Chief of Banten Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Ery Nursatari, Primary Officials of Banten Regional Police, and tens of High and Middle Officials from three Armed Forces and Police from the 1989 class. In his opening statement, the Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police explained that the vaccination acceleration and social service event is to help Banten people in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to him, these events are conducted thanks to the cooperation of the 1989 Class of Indonesian Armed Forces consisted of four dimensions: Army, Navy, Air Force, and Police. "The vaccination and social service event is also conducted in the context of the 76th Armed Forces anniversary and the 33 years of our service as the Armed Forces and Police personnel from the 1989 Class of Indonesian Armed Forces", he said. He added that the alumni of the 1989 Class had conducted a similar event in 2020. "We have conducted health and social service events since 2020 because we realise that in the last run of our service, we from the Class of 1989 must give a contribution by helping people", he affirmed. Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police hoped that through vaccination and social service, there would be herd immunity for the people under the Banten Regional Police jurisdiction area and could help the government in national economic recovery. "Therefore, we from the 1989 Class thanked the Banten Provincial Government for the support of our event. I hope that this event could boost herd immunity in public", Police General Commissioner Agus Andrianto said.
