Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Three French battleships and one Australian vessel have arrived at Benoa Port, Bali, where they will remain for the week.
The Indonesian Navy organized welcoming ceremonies for them to strengthen military ties with France and Australia, Admiral I Made Wira Hady Arsanta Wardhana, the Indonesian Navy’s Head of Information Office, said on Wednesday (29/1/2025).
The French ships, which arrived on Tuesday, include the FNS Forbin (D620) under Captain Aurelie Leiuffre, the FNS Provence (D652) led by Captain Lionel Siegfried, and the FNS Alsace (D656), commanded by Captain Jerome Henry. These ships are on a routine visit from Tuesday to February 3, 2025, for crew changes, tourism, and maintenance.
Following their Bali visit, FNS Forbin and FNS Provence will head to Manila, Philippines, while FNS Alsace will sail to Okinawa, Japan
In addition to the French ships docking in Bali, the French nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has been docked at Gili Mas Port since Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Australian battleship HMAS Hobart (DDG 39), commanded by Captain Alisha Withers, docked at Benoa Port on Sunday.
