inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Saber Task Force for Food Price, Safety, and Quality Violations recorded significant results in national food surveillance in the first week of February 5–11, 2026.

This increase in monitoring activities was accelerated following the Coordination Meeting of the Saber Task Force for Food Violations led by the Head of the Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency, Commissioner General Syahardiantono, as the Head of the Saber Task Force Steering Committee.

According to the recapitulation of the Saber Task Force Central Command Post, monitoring activities were conducted at 9,138 locations in 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities throughout Indonesia during the week.

The Deputy for Food Availability and Stabilization of the National Food Agency (Bapanas), as the Head of the Task Force, I Gusti Ketut Astawa stated that the intensive monitoring has had a direct impact on the price reduction of several strategic commodities, particularly in the lead-up to the 2026 National Religious Holidays (HBKN), such as: broiler chicken eggs, broiler chicken meat, fresh beef, curly chilies, curly red chilies, oil, and medium and premium rice.

Although some food commodities remain above the Highest Retail Price (HET/HAP) in several provinces, they are trending downward.

"Extensive monitoring and follow-up in the field have proven effective in suppressing the prices of several key food commodities, such as premium and medium rice in Zones I and II, curly red chilies, broiler chicken eggs, and broiler chicken meat," said Ketut Astawa in his statement on Thursday (2/12/2026).

Of the total monitoring, the majority were conducted at traders and retailers (5,939 locations), followed by modern retailers (1,472 locations), wholesalers (967 locations), distributors (554 locations), producers (136 locations), and agents (70 locations).

Throughout the monitoring period, the Task Force issued 128 warning letters, replenished 400 empty stocks at various monitoring points, and collected 33 food samples for laboratory testing. They also recommended the revocation of one business permit and two distribution permits for businesses found to have violated HET/HAP, food safety, and quality standards.

According to Astawa, these firm measures are part of efforts to maintain price stability, food safety, and quality at the national level.

Furthermore, Ketut Astawa emphasized that the Food Violation Task Force will continue to intensify supervision, particularly of traders and retailers, and strengthen public outreach to the public on its complaint hotline.

"Multi-layered supervision and public participation are key to ensuring that food in circulation is safe, high-quality, and affordable, especially in anticipation of Chinese New Year, Ramadan, and Eid al-Fitr 2026," he explained.
