Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. Nali Immigration deported an Australian national for assaulting a taxi driver in Badung, Bali.

Suhendra, the Head of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, explained on Sunday (5/5/2024) that the Australian, identified as MJF (25), was deported to Australia after being transferred from Kuta Police Office, which is under the Denpasar City Sub-regional Police.

MJF was charged under Article 75 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration, resulting in deportation and his inclusion in the Indonesian immigration blacklist.

Immigration data showed MJF entered Indonesia on 18 April  2024, through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport using a Visa on Arrival (VOA), which is valid until 17  May 2024.

The deportation followed MJF's altercation with police for assaulting a taxi driver in Kuta on 21 April 2024. Kuta Police arrested MJF at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport as he attempted to flee to Australia on 26 April 2024.

After legal proceedings at Kuta Police, resolved through restorative justice, MJF was handed over to Ngurah Rai Immigration for deportation.
