Inp.polri.go.id - Labuan Bajo.  The West Manggarai Sub-regional Police in East Nusa Tenggara, have handed over a suspect in the abduction and murder of a Jakarta bank branch head to Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police after his arrest in Labuan Bajo.

“The suspect, identified as EW alias Eras, 28, from Manggarai Timur, was arrested at Komodo Airport without resistance,” said Assistant Senior Inspector Lufthi Darmawan Aditya, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the West Manggarai Police, on Friday (22/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Authorities said suspect EW, who worked as a debt collector in Jakarta, fled to his hometown after allegedly being involved in the kidnapping of a state-owned bank branch head, identified as MIP (37) 

The victim was abducted in East Jakarta and later found dead in Bekasi with hands and feet bound and eyes taped.

The West Manggarai Police coordinated with the Metro Jaya Police investigators before intercepting suspect EW, who has since been flown to Jakarta for further questioning. 

The case is being investigated by the Metro Jaya Police’s Directorate of General Crimes.
