Inp.polri.go.id - Serang. Banten Regional Police reported a corn harvest covering 1,772 hectares, producing over 2,442 tons by the second quarter of 2025, following a mass harvest in Ciruas, Serang Regency.

The figure marked 71% of the national 2,500-hectare target.

“Banten Police collaborates with the Agriculture Ministry, local administration, Bulog, and farmer groups to push productivity. Nearly half of the cultivated land has produced over 2,000 tons,” said Banten Police Chief Inspector General Hengki on Sunday (28/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The third-quarter harvest is ongoing, with state logistics company Bulog committed to absorbing at least 2,000 tons. Chief Hengki stressed the importance of post-harvest monitoring to prevent farmer losses, from drying to storage and distribution.

At the Ciruas event, 9.17 hectares yielded 54 tons, while Serang Sub-regional Police reaped 21 tons from three hectares with plans to expand to 35. Farmers welcomed the program, citing improved welfare, while Bulog’s guaranteed purchase price of IDR 6,400 per kilogram ensures stable incomes.
