Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The General Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) has raised the possibility of conducting postponed elections for voters at several polling stations affected by recent floods in Demak, Central Java.
During a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday (11/2/2024), Bawaslu member Lolly Suhenty said that several scenarios had been discussed by the General Election Commission (KPU) and other relevant agencies, including Bawaslu, regarding voting in over a hundred polling stations in Demak affected by floods.
"In the case of Demak, various efforts have been made to ensure the smooth implementation of the elections. However, the situation is challenging, so postponed elections are one of the options besides relocation," she said.
However, that no decision had been made regarding this matter yet, antaranews.com reported.
According to the KPU Demak, 106 locations planned to be polling stations were submerged in floods as of 7 February 2024
