Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Bank Indonesia (BI) has officially launched QRIS Tap, an NFC-based payment system enabling users to simply tap their phones on a scanner for transactions, including retail purchases and public transport fares for the KRL and MRT trains.
“This is a strong collaboration between Bank Indonesia, the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Transportation, the Payment System Association, Bank DKI, and the transport sector,” said BI Governor Perry Warjiyo on Friday (14/3/2025).
QRIS Tap offers a faster, more practical, and secure payment experience, processing transactions in just 0.3 seconds without requiring manual QR code scanning, according to antaranews.com.
The phased implementation will begin with transport, retail, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), education, healthcare, and parking, covering over 2,300 merchants. Initially, the service will be available on the MRT Bundaran HI–Lebak Bulus route, 120 Damri buses, and 12 Royal Trans vehicles.
