Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesia Mother and Child Hospital in Gaza City, Palestine, initiated by the Indonesian public, is set to break ground in April 2025, according to the Aqsa Working Group (AWG).

“If all goes as planned, our advance team will depart to commence construction after Eid in early April,” AWG Presidium Chair M. Anshorullah said at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday (14/3/2025).

The team will oversee the hospital’s groundbreaking and finalize administrative requirements with Gaza’s Ministry of Health. The project stems from the urgent need for maternal and pediatric care, as women and children account for 60% of casualties in the conflict.

Upon completion, RSIA will be fully operated by Palestinian medical personnel. 

“We want this hospital to truly represent Indonesia’s contribution,” said RSIA Construction Team Head Edy Wahyudi, according to antaranews.com.

The hospital, built on 5,000 square meters of waqf land, will house 100 inpatient beds and specialized facilities, with an estimated cost of Rp 402 billion.
