The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) is hunting down two ship owners who smuggled drugs in the waters of the Riau Islands, namely The Aungtoetoe 99 carrying 1.2 tons of cocaine and 678 kg of crystal methamphetamine, and the Sea Dragon Terawa Motor Ship carrying two tons of crystal methamphetamine from Thailand.
Head of the BNN, Martinus Hukom said that his party had conducted a joint investigation with law enforcement officers from neighboring countries to detect the owners of the two ships.
"BNN has conducted a joint investigation with various countries to dismantle the syndicate network widely, and finally succeeded in identifying the owner of the ship The Autoetoe99 named Ka Khao," said Hukom in Batam City, Riau Islands, Monday (5/26/2025).
He said that BNN has issued a red notice and designated Ka Khao as an international wanted person (DPO) to become an international fugitive.
Meanwhile, the owner of the Sea Dragon Tarawa ship was successfully identified by BNN in collaboration with the American DEA and the Thai Police.
"From the joint investigation, we managed to identify someone named Chan Chai alias Kantai Tui, alias Mr. Tan, alias Jacky Tan," he said.
He said that Chan Chai was a fugitive from the Thai police who played a role as the controller of narcotics smuggling using the Sea Dragon Tarawa motorboat.
"BNN will immediately issue a red notice and designate him as an international fugitive," he said.
