Inp.polri.go.id - Medan.  North Sumatra Regional Police’s Mobile Brigade (Brimob) has deployed personnel to restore the Sibolga–Padangsidimpuan road, cut off by recent landslides.

Two Search and Rescue (SAR) units from Brimob’s Battalion C, South Tapanuli, were sent via Sibolga and Sipirok routes to reach affected areas, focusing on clearing roads, evacuating residents, assessing damage, and ensuring aid reaches isolated communities, said North Sumatra Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent Rantau Isnur Eka said on Tuesday (25/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.

“The teams coordinate closely with the regional disaster agency, the National Search and Rescue Agency, and local units to accelerate emergency response,” he added, stressing the commitment of Brimob personnel to operate in extreme weather and difficult terrain.

The North Sumatra Disaster Operations Center reported landslides in four areas: Sibolga, Gunungsitoli, South Tapanuli, and South Nias, triggered by heavy rain on Monday.
