inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Culture launched a stamp depicting 79 of Indonesian founding fathers, along with one of the PPKI (Preparatory Committee for Indonesian Independence) meeting buildings.

Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, stated that this event was part of a series of events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence.

"Through this launch, we want to keep Indonesian history alive," he said, as reported by RRI on Tuesday (8/12/2025).

According to him, stamps serve as a way of capturing or recording the history of major events in this country.

He noted that previously, no stamps depicting members of the Investigating Committee for Preparatory Work for Indonesian Independence (BPUPKI) had been issued.

"They were all the ones who prepared for Indonesian independence long ago," he explained.

Furthermore, he hoped that the launch of this stamp depicting the nation's founding fathers would encourage the public to remember Indonesian history.

"Hopefully, this will remind us of the meaning of struggle, sacrifice, and the blood and tears of our leaders," he explained.

A 500 set of stamps depicting the nation's founding fathers was produced, complete with a stamp booklet containing information about the 79 figures. These include Indonesia's first president, Soekarno, Indonesia's first vice president, Mohammad Hatta, Margono Djojohadikoesoemo, and KH Wahid Hasyim.
