Central Java Regional Police Pushed back 2682 Vehicles to West Java and 1853 vehicles to East Java

inp.polri.go.id. - Brebes. The Central Java Regional Police acted firmly in implementing the Eid homecoming ban. At least 2682 vehicles were pushed back from Central Java to West Java. "From the 14 checkpoints in Central Java, the Central Java Regional Police have made a turnaround of 2,682 vehicles from Central Java to West Java," explained the Chief of Central Java Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, when observing traffic flow at the Pejagan Toll Gate, Brebes, Sunday (9 May 2021). The Chief of Regional Police said that in addition to vehicles heading to West Java and vice versa, the Central Java Police also turned around 1,853 vehicles from Central Java to East Java and 371 vehicles from Central Java to the Special Region Yogyakarta. "Turn around the border area for three days of "2021 Ketupat Candi Operation", totalling 4706 vehicles," he added. The number of vehicles entering Central Java has reached 32,000 vehicles, East Java around 10,000 vehicles and West Java around 2,000-3,000 vehicles. Based on a survey before the government intensified the ban on homecoming, the number of people who would go home reached 18 per cent. However, after the homecoming ban was implemented, this figure fell to 11 per cent or around 8 million to 11 million people.
