Inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. To eradicate drug trafficking and illegal activities, the Riau Regional Police and its ranks continue to cooperate with other related agencies, one of which is establishing cooperation with the Malaysian police. The cooperation was implemented after Riau Police Chief, Police Inspector General Muhammad Iqbal, made a working visit to the Melaka Contingent Police.

"I am very enthusiastic about this cooperation. The Riau Police will be maximized to prevent and eradicate drug trafficking, eradicate trafficking in persons/illegal immigrants and smuggling of illegal goods," said Police Inspector General Muhammad Iqbal, Tuesday (16/5/23).

Inspector General Muhammad Iqbal revealed that crime eradication cannot be done alone. Therefore, all relevant parties are invited to join hands to eradicate from upstream to downstream. This cooperation is also in line with the commitment of the 42nd ASEAN leaders in Labuan Bajo.

"Especially the eradication of trafficking in persons. This spirit is in line with the commitment of the leaders of the 42nd ASEAN countries in Labuan Bajo which took place May 6-11, 2023," he explained further.

He also invited the Melaka Contingent Police to attend Pekanbaru. This is so that both can establish cooperation and see from all aspects.

"I also invite the Melaka Contingent Police to come to Pekanbaru and continue to cooperate. This can also see Riau Province’s potential from all aspects," he concluded.
