Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Communication and Informatics Ministry logs 57,459 reports of scam in the aduannomor.id throughout 2023. “We have listed approximately 57,459 reports, of which 13,638 of them have been blocked by us,” said the Director of Control at the Directorate General of Postal and Information Technology Dani Suwadarni on Friday (2/2/2024). The aduannomor.id website, which is managed by the directorate, was created for people to report suspicious phone numbers used for scamming. If the phone number is indeed used for scam, then the number would be blocked by the telecommunications service provider. People could report the phone numbers suspected for scam by providing evidence of voice recording or screenshot. The phone number blocking due to scam has been regulated in Minister of Communication and Information Technology Regulation Number 5 of 2021 concerning Telecommunications Operations. Dani states that from the 57,459 reports logged in the website, 28,459 were rejected due to lack of proof. “Approximately 28,459 reports have to be rejected because of lack of proof such as screenshots or phone recording. While 15,362 others have been verified and blocked,” said Dani. In his closing remarks, Dani reminds people that they could also report the suspicious numbers to call center 159. (ad/ndt/pr/nm)
