Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has scheduled a virtual meeting with Steam representatives on Tuesday to clarify the unauthorized display of Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS) labels on the platform.

"We will hold a Zoom meeting tomorrow to seek clarification from Steam regarding their internal issues and the unverified ratings displayed," said Director of Digital Ecosystem Development, Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, on Monday (6/4/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.

The Ministry revealed that Steam had prematurely implemented IGRS labels based on self-assessments without government verification or an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). 

Following an internal miscommunication, Steam has since issued an apology, retracted the unverified IGRS labels, and reverted to international rating standards. Official system integration and the formal signing of the MoU are now targeted for completion by June 2026 to ensure all digital games strictly adhere to Indonesia's conservative cultural norms and age-appropriate guidelines.
