Inp.polri.go.id - Karawang.  Heavy congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road heading toward Jakarta on Sunday, the final day of the Islamic New Year long weekend, prompted authorities to implement a contraflow traffic system.

Ria Marlinda Paallo, the Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), said on Sunday (29/6/2025) that the contraflow began at 5.26 pm, covering KM 55 to KM 47 on the eastbound section to alleviate returning traffic from the holiday.

The traffic engineering was carried out under police discretion in coordination with Jasa Marga to ease the buildup.

Motorists are urged to prepare adequately, ensuring both vehicle and driver are in top condition, with sufficient fuel, battery charge, and electronic toll card balance.

Separately, arterial roads in Karawang-Cikampek also experienced increased traffic, dominated by motorcycles and private vehicles as travelers returned from their holiday, as reported by antaranews.com.
