inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar highlighted the current generation of young people who are reluctant to become farmers and prefer to work as state civil servants (ASN).

"Our farmers are still suffering, their incomes are still low, their welfare is still low. Most frighteningly, young people no longer want to be farmers. They want to be civil servants," said Coordinating Minister Muhaimin, Monday (9/22/2025).

This, according to him, is due to the still less prosperous lives of farmers.

"We commemorate National Farmers Day as our respect for the farmers who have contributed to supplying our food, providing our daily needs. Despite their struggle, our farmers continue to serve. However now, our young people do not want to be farmers because farmers are indeed suffering," explained Coordinating Minister Muhaimin.

For this reason, the Prabowo Subianto administration continues to strive to improve the welfare of farmers through pro-farmer policies.

"We are all fighting to ensure that our farmers receive true respect, appreciation, and prosperity," said Coordinating Minister Muhaimin.
