Inp.polri.go.id - Timika. The Mimika Sub-regional Police have launched a free medical outreach program for residents in the remote Kapiraya Village, located within the Central West Mimika District of Central Papua.

On Saturday (21/2026), officers from the Mimika Police Medical and Health Unit, traveled to the inland area to provide essential check-ups and treatments for local villagers.

"Our medical team conducted these examinations as a practical demonstration of police care for our citizens in secluded regions," said Second Inspector Hempi Ona, the Mimika Police Head of Public Relations, as cited by antaranews.com.

During the outreach, medical officers identified and treated several cases of malaria, gastric issues, respiratory infections, and hypertension. Chief Hempi said that the initiative reflects the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s commitment to being more than just law enforcers, but active participants in improving public welfare and health accessibility across Mimika.

Local residents welcomed the initiative with high enthusiasm, as access to formal healthcare facilities remains a significant challenge in the province’s interior.
