Damai Cartenz Ops Arrest Suspected Member of KKB in Intan Jaya

inp.polri.go.id - Intan Jaya. The 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Task Force apprehended a man with the initials PP (25), alias P, along with evidence of a cell phone. 

He is suspected of being linked to the armed criminal group (KKB) operating in Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, under the command of Kodam III D Dulla Intan Jaya.

When interviewed on Thursday (6/25/2026), the Head of Public Relations for the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation, Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, confirmed the arrest.

"PP was apprehended by a joint team from the 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation on Wednesday (6/24/2026) at around 2:00 PM in Bajemba Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya. After being apprehended, he was immediately taken to our post for further questioning and investigation," explained Yusuf.

According to the authority, PP is alleged to have been involved in a number of security disturbances that have occurred in the Intan Jaya. In addition to the shooting at the Intan Jaya Task Force Tower Post on January 19, 2024, investigators are also investigating his alleged links to several other incidents that occurred in 2026. However, all of this information is still under investigation and investigation to complete the evidence and objectively determine the legal facts in accordance with applicable regulations.

For his alleged involvement in these incidents, PP is suspected of violating Article 458 paragraph (1) and/or Article 466 paragraph (3) and/or Article 459 in conjunction with Article 20 letter c and/or Article 21 paragraph (1) letter b of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP), regarding the alleged crime of murder and/or premeditated murder, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 (twenty) years' imprisonment, life imprisonment, or the death penalty.

"The application of this article is still in the process of being proven based on valid evidence in accordance with the provisions of applicable laws and regulations," conclude Yusuf
