Inp.polri.go.id - Bogor. Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin announced Saturday (31/1/2026) that 4,000 civil servants from various ministries in Jakarta will be drafted into the National Reserve Component starting early 2026. 

The program targets officials aged 18 to 35 for mandatory basic military training to instill nationalism and strengthen the country’s defense architecture.

"By the first semester of 2026, we will begin training approximately 4,000 ASN members centralized across Jakarta ministries," Minister Sjafrie confirmed during a state defense retreat, as reported by antaranews.com.

He clarified that the reserve force is designed to augment national defense during emergencies, not to replace the Indonesian Military (TNI) as the primary security frontline. 

Trainees will undergo quarterly phases of military discipline before returning to their respective state institutions to resume their administrative duties.
