The Head of Public Relations for the Bali Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ariasandy, explained that this case stemmed from a public complaint on August 26, 2024. An investigation was then conducted, and the case was escalated to an investigation on January 20, 2025.
"The complainant is one of the Collective Management Institutions (LMK) in Indonesia, namely the Indonesian Music Licensing Center (SELMI). In this case, she is represented by Vanny Irawan as License Manager, in accordance with a power of attorney granted by the Chairman of SELMI," explained Ariasandy in an official statement on Monday (7/21/2025).
He explained that the suspect designation was made due to her responsibilities as director. However, Ira has not yet been detained.
"The suspect is being charged under Article 117 and/or Article 24 of the Copyright Law, which carries a maximum sentence of four years in prison and a fine of Rp 1 billion," he said.
