"I must emphasize that domestic tourists are the strength of Indonesian tourism. All tourist destinations will enjoy economic benefits based on tourist preferences," said the Minister on Friday (1/2/2025).

She previously visited Bali to review service arrangements for tourists vacationing in the Island of the Gods during the peak Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holidays.

Minister Widi inspected the service flow at the check-in counter, immigration counter, food and beverage outlets, souvenir center, and customs office at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali.

During the airport service review, Widi distributed souvenirs to several tourists and listened to their impressions of airport services and their holiday experiences in Bali.

She then visited the Integrated Post at the Domestic Departure Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and received a presentation on tourist visits and flight services.

Citing a report from Angkasa Pura Bali and the Bali Provincial Government, he stated that international tourists arriving in Bali by air by the end of December 2025 are estimated to have exceeded 7.05 million, an 11 percent increase from the approximately 6.3 million visits in 2024.

"This is a record high for international tourist visits to Bali," said the Minister of Tourism. Meanwhile, domestic tourist visits to Bali throughout 2025 reached a total of 9.28 million, a decrease of approximately 700,000 compared to 2024.

The Minister of Tourism assessed that during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays, domestic tourists were distributed to various tourist destinations in Indonesia. He expressed his hope that the national target of 1.08 billion domestic tourist trips in 2025 could be achieved.
