inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Ahmad Sahroni asked law enforcement officers in West Sumatra Province (Sumbar) to take firm action against perpetrators in cases of sexual violence.

"This case of sexual violence must be given special attention by law enforcement officers, both the Police and the Prosecutor's Office," said Ahmad Sahroni during a working visit to the West Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters in Padang, Wednesday (5/28/2025).

He said that the firm stance was not only to punish the perpetrators, but also to ensure that the victims receive protection and security.

Sahroni said that cases of sexual violence are currently receiving public attention after the disclosure of a dark twisted group about incest on social media Facebook. The deviant group is known to have 32,000 members, which of course must be anticipated.

Therefore, he encouraged the West Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Gatot Tri Suryanta and his staff to make cases of sexual violence a special concern.

"The police, in addition to carrying out humanistic tasks, must also make this a special concern for legal action," explained Sahroni.

Specifically, he also asked Gatot Tri Suryanta to fully reveal the case of sexual harassment experienced by minors in Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatra.
