Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia and seven partner countries have strongly condemned Israel's recent decision to designate occupied West Bank territories as "state land."
In a joint statement released Tuesday (17/2/2026), foreign ministers from Egypt, Jordan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, and the UAE joined Indonesia in denouncing the move as a grave escalation. The group highlighted that Israel is implementing land ownership registration in occupied Palestinian territories for the first time since 1967, violating international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2334.
"This illegal step aims to accelerate settlement activities and consolidate unilateral control over Palestinian lands," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said via X, as cuoted by antaranews.com.
The ministers emphasized that these policies directly contradict the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion regarding the illegality of altering the status of occupied territories.
They warned that such administrative shifts systematically undermine the Two-State Solution and erode the prospects for an independent Palestinian state. The coalition called upon the international community to take decisive action to protect Palestinian sovereignty based on the 1967 borders.
