East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Deploys Unit to Secure Jokowi’s Visit to North Timor Tengah Regency

Personnel of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police deployed to secure the visit of Indonesian President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo in North Timor Tengah Regency during his schedule to inaugurate Napan State Border Crossing Post (PLBN), which directly borders Oekusi District, Timor Leste, on Wednesday (10/2/2024).

Head of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga was seen to also accompany the president during his visit and guarantees his party’s commitment to maintain peace and order during the activity.

“East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police remains committed to secure and oversee every step of development in the province,” says the police chief stated by the Head of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Ariasandy.

The inauguration ceremony was marked by the pressing of the siren button and the signing of the inscription by President Jokowi. In addition to the Napan PLBN, the PLBNs that were inaugurated included Serasan, Jagoi Babang, Sei Nyamuk, Yetetkun, Long Nawang, and Labang.

President Jokowi emphasized the importance of the border area as the front porch of Indonesia.

President Jokowi also said that the construction of the PLBN has three strategic values, namely accelerating crossing services, improving the economy in border areas, and strengthening national defense.
