Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura.  Two construction workers were shot dead on Wednesday (4/6/2025) in Kwantapo Village, Jayawijaya, allegedly by the armed group led by Egianus Kogoya. 

Head of Damai Cartenz Task Force Brigadier Faizal Ramadani said on Wednesday (4/6/2025) that the victims, identified as Rahmat Hidayat (45) and Saepudin (39), from Purwakarta, West Java, were working on the GKI Imanuel Church project when two armed men opened fire at around 8.20 am local time. 

Witnesses said both victims attempted to flee but were chased and executed, according to antaranews.com

Joint forces from the Jayawijaya Sub-regional Police and the Damai Cartenz Task Force immediately secured the scene and evacuated the bodies.

Chief  Faizal confirmed the area remains tense but under control, with security forces on alert and pursuing the perpetrators.
