Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian has officially allowed regional governments to resume holding meetings and events in hotels and restaurants.

Speaking at NTB’s provincial development forum (Musrenbang) on Wednesday (4/6/2025), he said he had directly consulted President Prabowo Subianto on the matter.

“Reduce the frequency if necessary, but don’t stop completely. Choose struggling hotels or restaurants to help revive their operations,” Minister Tito urged, emphasizing the importance of supporting the hospitality and food industries, which are key players in the MICE sector and rely heavily on government activities.

He noted that although the central government is cutting Rp 50 trillion from national spending, the impact is spread across 552 regions and will not heavily disrupt local budgets.

Minister Tito also encouraged sensible planning, saying that travel and meetings are acceptable as long as they’re not excessive.

“If three to four meetings suffice, don’t schedule ten,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com
