inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, stated that Indonesia needs sufficient human resources (HR) with technological skills in handling the demographic bonus period.
"This is a major challenge for all of us: developing capable human resources who are ready to face new challenges in a world full of uncertainty," said Nezar Patria on Monday (10/27/2025).
Nezar stated that Indonesia needs talents in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) who are capable of independently developing AI technology in accordance with the nation's culture.
He explained that Indonesia's productive workforce, which includes people aged 16 to 65, will reach 70 percent by 2035.
"This is an extraordinary productive force, and we can only enjoy it until 2035, at a peak of 70 percent. After that, it will decline, and then by 2045, it will probably be around 60 percent or below," said Nezar Patria.
This strength can be optimally utilized if the Indonesian workforce has skills, including skills in technology.
Therefore, the government is implementing programs to increase human resource capacity and the expertise of talents in the digital technology sector.
