inp.poplri.go.id - The East Folores Resort Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested five employees of the Hope Mart (HM) in Larantuka City, East Flores, Saturday, September 3, 2022. They were arrested following a report from the owner of the HM supermarket on suspicion of embezzling a bill of more than Rp 2 billion. The Head of the East Timor Police, AKBP I Gede Ngurah Joni, conveyed through the Head of Public Relations of the Flotim Police, Ipda Sanusi Anwar, stated that the five employees had secured and are now being placed in the Larantuka Rutan. "We received a report of a criminal act of embezzlement from the HM supermarket. After we investigated there was the involvement of HM shop employees. Because these five people were female prisoners, we put them in the East Flores Detention Center, with security considerations," he told reporters, Sunday, September 4, 2022. Based on the victim's statement, the accumulated losses from January to August were approximately Rp2 billion. For his actions, the perpetrators were charged with articles 374 and 555 with a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison.
