inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. The South Sumatra Regional Police continues to intensify Enhanced Routine Activities (KRYD) following the conclusion of Operation Ketupat Musi 2026. This activity is a step to maintain security and public order in South Sumatra.

Other than maintaining a conducive situation following the Eid homecoming and return flows, KRYD focuses on preventive and preemptive measures, including large-scale patrols and surveillance in crowded areas, residential areas, and tourist attractions.

In addition, this activity also targets potential disturbances such as illegal racing, thuggery, and drug abuse. In terms of traffic, the South Sumatra Regional Police are taking firm action against three-axle freight vehicles that violate operational regulations stipulated in the Joint Decree (SKB).

According to operational data, 772 vehicles have been prosecuted. In detail, 559 vehicles were caught violating the laws during the homecoming flow and 213 vehicles during the return flow.

Enforcement was carried out by impounding vehicles to prevent congestion and improve road safety.

"Security remains a priority on main routes, especially the eastern and central routes, which are the arteries of vehicle movement," said the Director of Traffic for the South Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Maesa Soegriwo, on Tuesday (3/31/2026).

He stated that nighttime patrols are also being stepped up with the support of the Traffic Congestion Resolution Team to ensure a swift response to any potential disruptions in the field. Surveillance has also been expanded to public mobility points such as ports, airports, and train stations, through cross-functional synergy between the Traffic Unit, the Public Order Agency (Sampta), and the Criminal Investigation Unit.
