inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Following a field investigation at the mosque of SMAN 72 Kelapa Gading, Jakarta, police officers helped clean and fix the mosque following the bombing incident.
This social activity is part of efforts to restore the mosque after the incident and alleviate the trauma felt by the school students and surrounding community.
The social action was led by the Vice Chief of the North Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, Superintendent James H. Hutajulu, on Saturday (11/8/2025). Dozens of police personnel, assisted by locals and school officials, participated in the activity, working together to clean and repair the mosque.
"This activity is a tangible manifestation of the police's empathy and solidarity with the people of SMAN 72. We want to ensure that after yesterday's incident, all facilities are clean, safe, and comfortable to use, especially the place of worship," said James in a statement on Sunday (11/9/2025).
The cleaning was carried out thoroughly, starting with the ceiling and walls of the mosque, which were then repainted. Officers also repaired and replaced ceramic tiles, window glass, lights, fans, wall clocks, and carpets. In addition, the main door was repaired and electrical wiring was re-arranged for safety.
James emphasized that this activity is not just about repairing the physical building, but also about restoring a sense of security and unity among the school community.
"We invite all elements of the community to help each other. This restoration is not just about the building, but also about togetherness and caring for others," he added.
