Following up instruction of Chief of Indonesia National Police, Gorontalo Regional Police and its Resort Police ranks carried out large-scale patrols while distributing social assistance packages to communities affected by PPKM (Community Activity Restriction) Level 3, Saturday (07/31/2021) at 21.00 Indonesia Western Time.
Head of Operational Bureau of Gorontalo Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Pratama Adhyasastra, directly lead the distribution of this social assistance, accompanied by High Rank Officers of Gorontalo Regional Police and hundreds of joint officers consisting of joint personnels from Gorontalo Regional Police.
In carrying out this patrol, Gorontalo Regional Police and its Resort Police ranks deployed around 490 personnels and were assisted by 85 Indonesia National Armed Forces personnels and 65 Municipality Police personnels. With total location of 83 points.
As for disbanding and closing active crowds target are around 56 points. For social assistance, 990 kg of rice and 445 packages of nine-basic-needs.
Head of Operational Bureau of Gorontalo Regional Police said the patrol is to anticipate disturbance of public security and order, also provided nine-basic-needs to communities affected by PPKM (Community Activity Restriction), both Micro PPKM, Emergency PPKM and Level 3 PPKM.
"Our target this time is community, especially street vendors. Because they are very affected by the implementation of PPKM. We hope this assistance can ease their burden in fulfilling their daily needs,” Head of Operational Bureau of Gorontalo Regional Police explained.
He also said patrols are still the same, checking the occurrence of crowds and providing education to community on determination of PPKM and preventing Covid-19 spread.
"We want the public to be able to understand what the government has recommended during Covid-19 pandemic. So, Covid-19 pandemic will end quickly. Therefore, we took this persuasive approach during the patrols," Head of Operational Bureau of Gorontalo Regional Police explained.
