inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Clean Sweep (SABER) Task Force for Food Price, Safety, and Quality Violations checked the availability of staple foods at Koja Baru Market in North Jakarta. In addition to availability, they also checked the prices of staple foods.
Head of Sub-Directorate 1 of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's Trade and Industry Division, Superintendent Muh. Ardila Amry, stated that the checks are conducted routinely every day.
"Every day we visit at least 46 locations, both traditional markets and modern retailers, to ensure the stock, price, safety, and quality of staple foods," said Ardila on Thursday (2/19/2026).
She explained that the measures taken include preemptive measures through outreach and education to vendors regarding the Highest Retail Price (HET) and the Government Reference Price (HAP).
In addition, preventive measures include daily monitoring and administrative warnings for vendors who violate regulations. If violations persist, business license revocation will be recommended.
"For those who do not yet have a business permit, we will coordinate with market management regarding the evaluation of stall contract extensions," he explained.
The Task Force is also preparing repressive measures as a last resort against hoarders, in accordance with statutory provisions.
These checks are being conducted to maintain price stability and the availability of basic necessities ahead of the National Religious Holiday (HBKN) so that the public can shop safely and comfortably.
