inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta.  Chief of the Food Task Force of the National Police (Kasatgas Pangan Polri) Inspector General Helmy Santika said that his party has prepared several strategies in anticipating the spiking price of daily commodities ahead of Ramadhan. "To anticipate this issue, we have communicated and coordinated with relevant Ministries and Institutions, including associations and business actors," stated Kasatgas Pangan Polri, Wednesday (23/3/22). Through this coordination, they seek to maximize the productivity of basic commodities, accelerate its distribution, and cut the supply chains, "so that the availability of the stocks and its distribution remains safe, and also maintaining the prices to be affordable for the community," he explained. Inspector General Helmy Santika added that the spiking prices of daily supplies that often occur before Ramadhan is caused by several factors. One of them is because the public's demand has increased drastically. "The increase in the price of daily supplies ahead of Ramadhan and Eid is mainly due to the increase in demand. If the demand increases while the availability is lacking, then the price will increase significantly," explained the Head of the Food Task Force.
