The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , through the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul, is coordinating intensively with the South Korean Coast Guard (KCG) to obtain the latest developments regarding the search operation for Indonesian crew members missing in the waters off Busan.

Previously, Yonhap reported that a fishing vessel, also crewed by six Indonesian citizens, sank near Busan.

According to a written statement from the Directorate for Protection of Indonesian Citizens (PWNI) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the incident occurred on June 25 at approximately 10:10 a.m. local time when the 79-ton vessel collided with a 992-ton LPG carrier in the waters around Gijang, Busan.

"At the time of the incident, there were eight crew members on board the fishing vessel, consisting of six Indonesian citizens and two South Korean citizens. Of these, six crew members (four of whom were Indonesian citizens) were rescued, while the search for the other two Indonesian crew members is still ongoing," said PWNI Director Heni Hamidah.

Heni stated that South Korean authorities are currently deploying coast guard patrol vessels, navy vessels, helicopters, other government vessels, and fishing boats near the scene to search for the missing.

She also stated that the Indonesian Embassy has been communicating with the families of the crew members to provide updates and provide necessary assistance.
