Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Indonesians in eastern China’s coastal areas, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, to remain vigilant and follow local authority instructions as extreme weather persists.
“Based on communication with Indonesians in the affected areas, there have been no casualties among our citizens,” said the Director for Indonesian Citizen Protection, Judha Nugraha, on Wednesday (6/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The ministry is coordinating with the Indonesian Consulates in Hong Kong and Guangzhou, as well as the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office in Taipei, to monitor conditions.
Safety advisories have been issued, and citizens are encouraged to contact local missions in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Taipei in emergencies:
Hong Kong has issued its fourth black rainstorm warning in eight days, while Taiwan has reported at least three deaths and four missing due to flooding and landslides caused by heavy rains.
