inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating narcotics crimes without discrimination, including against internal police officers.

This was conveyed by the Head of INP Public Relations Division, Inspector General Jhonny Edison Isir, during a doorstop in the first-floor lobby of INP Public Relations Division Building on Sunday evening (2/15/2026).

Jhonny announced that the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has named the former Bima City Sub-regional Police Chief, DPK, as a suspect in an alleged narcotics abuse and distribution case. This suspect designation follows the disclosure of a drug network that previously involved other police officers in the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) region.

"As a law enforcement institution mandated to eradicate all forms of crime, including narcotics, which constitutes an extraordinary crime, we will not tolerate any form of narcotics and psychotropic abuse, either by the public or internal police officers," Jhonny emphasized.

The case began with the arrest of two domestic workers who worked for the suspect, Brigadier KIR and his wife AN, with 30.415 grams of methamphetamine seized from their home. Investigations by the NTB Regional Police's Narcotics Directorate revealed the involvement of ML in the network.

Further investigation by the NTB Regional Police revealed positive results for amphetamine and methamphetamine. A search of ML's office and official residence subsequently uncovered five packages of methamphetamine weighing 488.496 grams. ML's statement revealed the alleged involvement of DPK.

Then, police subsequently searched DPK's private home in Tangerang on February 11, 2026. Investigators found 16.3 grams of methamphetamine, 50 ecstasy pills, 19 alprazolam pills, 2 Happy Five pills, and 5 grams of ketamine.

For his actions, DPK was charged under Article 609 paragraph (2) letter a of the Indonesian Criminal Code in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Provisions and Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment or 20 years and a fine of up to IDR 2 billion.
