Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. State airways company PT Garuda Indonesia CEO Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan has flown to the United States with President Prabowo Subianto to hold follow-up talks with Boeing on a potential aircraft procurement deal.
“In the context of long-term cooperation, our CEO is accompanying President Prabowo on his U.S. trip to continue discussions on the procurement of Boeing aircraft,” said Garuda’s Commercial Director Reza Aulia Hakim on Monday (22/9/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
Garuda currently operates 78 aircraft, its highest fleet count since the pandemic, after adding five planes by August 2025. The airline aims to introduce two more this year, making it the biggest post-pandemic expansion.
Passenger traffic in Indonesia is projected to reach 105 million this year, with Garuda targeting 12.2 million travelers. The airline plans to grow its fleet to over 100 aircraft by 2029, aiming to capture half of the domestic market.
